After finding an old Latin poetry book in the library, Reino finds themselves accidentally summoning Julius Caesar from the dead. They quickly learn that it's not a sleep-deprived dream and that they're now stuck with the former dictator of the ancient Roman Republic.

**Cato the Elder, Scipio Africanus, and Hannibal Barca (Punic trio). **
Pliny the Elder
F.A.Q.
General questions I've been asked about my comic, process, and other stuff.
-Why did you start this comic?
Because.-When does the comic update?
Every Sunday! (I try my best).-How come your posting schedule is so inconsistent? Why so many hiatuses? **
I've been pretty inconsistent in the past with every web comic I've made. In the past I was very ambitious and made a bunch of promises that ended up in disappointment. While I have taken breaks with this comic, I've actually been more consistent than with other comics. I've managed to post every Sunday when I was active and I'm proud of myself for finishing chapter 1 within a time range that I planned for myself. With all that said, this comic is just something I draw for comfort and fun. I don't want to make it stressful for myself. I want to keep going for as long as I can but that unfortunately means taking breaks and such. I hope that you'll stick with me!-Will this Roman appear in your comic?**
Most likely not. I have planned out who's going to appear, but I can't make any promises, because I'm unsure if I'll keep them. However, I do draw fun AU comics sometimes of different Romans. You can find them here.-Do you perhaps have a design for this Roman? If not, will you make one?
I probably do! I have over 70 designs done and am constantly making more. If there's a Roman that you want me to design you can always ask me! I sometimes open up requests. Otherwise, if I haven't done them yet, I probably eventually will but there's no guarantee. I just kind of design whoever I feel like at the moment.Eventually I would like to add a page on this site, or make a site that has every design for viewing! We'll see. For now I have this list here.-What inspired you to draw Romans as cute girls?
I've been drawing historical & mythological figures as girls for a long time now. I think it's fun because I love designing characters a lot and I love girls.-How do you usually make pages?
After daydreaming a scenario a hundred million times, I'll try to remember it by writing it down on a google doc. I had to start using google doc because I kept forgetting dialogue. I always end up writing the dialogue differently in the final product, but writing it down helps me remember the idea of it. Next I draft it out on sai and then panel it in clip paint. Then I lineart and color in sai and then add the words & speech bubbles on clip paint.-Any part of the process you like the most?
Linearting! and also hitting that SAVE AS PNG. Love seeing it all come together.-Dislike?
Paneling, dialogue, and spell checking. Even after spell checking and getting friends to help proof-read, there's always something off. The magic of language and also my terrible eyesight.-Can you explain your comic's format?
My comic is meant to be a gag comic. The overall format was inspired by Azumanga Daioh! So each "page" is really different from the last in regards to the plot line. But sometimes the pages will be in parts if the punchline(?) takes longer to deliver or if there's actually a plot that's going on. Also that's why there's titles. I debated if I wanted to include titles and in the end I went for it. I won't lie, I sometimes don't know what to name them so sometimes they'll be really random but related to whatever's going on.-Caesar is very frustrating. Why does he act like that?
Caesar's personality is like that because he was summoned directly from the dead, and the years before he died he was insufferable to many. Why do you think he was killed? It's cause they couldn't stand him (I mean it was deeper than that, but saving the Republic was a facade for the most part). Anyways, you can definitely see a transformation in his personality during the last years of his life.-Is there any reason why you like Caesar so much?
I can't give you one concrete reason. I love him for so many different reasons!!! Don't get me startedddd.-Caesar is overrated.
To you.-Is Reino based on yourself?
No, but I gave them some similar characteristics like being a uni-student. I think that's pretty common when making ocs. But you know how in dating sims the protagonist is a bland faceless person? That was meant to be Reino. But I grew attached to them and gave them a personality and style. I love Reino so much, it actually pains me when I write Caesar being mean to them.-What pronouns do Caesar and the (other) Romans use?
When the Romans talk about each other they use their original pronouns (he/him). However, you can use they/them or she/her if you want.-Why does the story take place in Texas?
Cause I live in Texas! Yee haw.-Why does Caesar say Texanus?
I made Caesar say it because I personally feel like he would find his own ways of understanding modern/new things. Hence why he also calls the TV a circus minimus. Also "texanus" is considered new Latin and is used often for scientific terms. I actually borrowed texanus from the scientific term for texas bluebonnet (Lupinus texensis); texanus is a synonym of texensis.-Why did you call the comic veni vidi vici?
Veni vidi vici (I came, I saw, I conquered) is one of Caesar's most famous quotes. Other stuff was in the air such as alea iacta est (the die is cast), but I liked veni vidi vici for a few reasons; I like that the abbreviation is simple and that the meaning fits into the story pretty well.-Why can't Caesar read or write in English?
Caesar doesn't necessarily realize that he's speaking in English. The book summoned him and lo and behold he's an English speaker now. But it only extends to speaking, not to writing/reading. English and Latin alphabet is very similar, but it's different enough to where Caesar won't recognize it and will read things incorrectly.-Do you know any Latin?
I took it in university, but I'm not very good at it tbh!! In my comic I try to avoid complicated stuff and try to stick with titles and common phrases. Any mistakes you find... Well... Let's just say I reinvented Latin, how about that <3-Is there any place where I can see more of your Roman art?
Yes, my SPQR blog.
